What Major Changes Have Occurred in Florida’s Clemency Law?

Clemency has been defined as “the forgiveness of a crime or the cancellation (in whole or in part) of the penalty associated with it.”

Florida attorney Reginald Garcia has written an article entitled “Florida Executive Clemency:  Seeking Mercy and Justice for Convicted Felons.”  In this article, Mr. Garcia discusses changes in Florida’s clemency law that went into effect earlier this year.    These changes affect such things as the restoration of civil rights, full pardon and firearm authority, and prison commutations.  I highly recommend Mr. Garcia’s article to anyone who is interested in learning more about these very important changes.
